To avoid being soaked, always be equipped with umbrellas or rain coats. Despite this rainy forecast, the weather maintains to be warm with temperature that ranges from 33 °C to 34 °C [1].
Traffic News: Bacolod City pushes to have clean drainage
Since the rainy season has started, Bacolodnons might again have to brave areas in the city that may get flooded. That’s why Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya pushed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to assist the City Government in checking and cleaning the drainage system in the city.
Gasataya mentioned that last week, large amounts of waste covered the inlets, thus causing a flood in Lacson Street.
DPWH’s Chief of Construction Section, Engineer Ferdinand Magada said that the drainage work from Rizal Street to Mandalagan Street is already complete. Minor items are being fixed to prevent another flood from happening again [2].
Travel Update: Esplanade project is scheduled to turn over soon
Another landmark in Bacolod City, the Esplanade project will be turned over to the city government soon by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Western Visayas [3]. The Esplanade is located along the circumferential road at the east side of the city.
Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said that this half-kilometer project will offer attractive facilities like a flood wall, benches, railings, lighting facilities, and blocks that the people will truly enjoy.
Similar to the Esplanade project in Iloilo, the Esplanade Bacolod is expected to be a place where people from all walks of life may walk with pleasure.
