Dubbed as the “Mother of all Festivals,”
Panaad sa Negros Festival is an annual event held every April at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental, to showcase Negrense culture and ingenuity.
“Panaad” is a Hiligaynon term which means “promise” or “vow,” and the festival is both thanksgiving to the Divine Providence and a commemoration of a vow in exchange for a good life.
This year’s festival is scheduled from April 8 to 14 with the theme: “Beyond a Promise…A legacy.” It celebrates 26 remarkable years of the festivity, which originated at the Provincial owned-Capitol Lagoon back in 1993.
