Great news for Bacoleños as launches were made left and right when it comes to real estate, hotels and local businesses in the city. Major highlights this first quarter were the launch of MessaVirre Bacolod and Seda Hotel Straight Up Bar. In Silay City, an ongoing development of the first ever theme park in Visayas named Magikland will soon boost tourist arrivals from nearby islands.

Straight Up Roofdeck Bar opens
Straight Up recently opened its counters as the roofdeck bar of Seda Hotel Bacolod. Located at the seventh floor of the hotel, the roofdeck bar has a beautiful view of the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park and the iconic water buffalo statue. At Straight Up, there is an air-conditioned function room and an open air lounge area where guests can choose where to hangout. There is also DJ-curated music for guests’ enjoyment. This is just one of the finest Bacolod roofdeck bars with majestic views of the city [1].
Project Announcement
MesaVirre Bacolod launched
A new condominium is about to rise in the City of Smiles. Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) is bringing MesaVirre Garden Residences to Bacolod City. MesaVirre is the fifth development of CLI's Garden Series and is their first project in Negros Occidental [2].
The project will be composed of three tower mid-rise residential community. The three residential buildings with 16, 19 and 18 floors, respectively, have a total 1,072 studio and a bedroom type units with sizes ranging from 22 square meters to almost 41 square meters [3]. They had their groundbreaking ceremony last April 30, and CLI announced that they will be developing an internal brand hotel as well in the area. Magikland, the first theme park in Visayas is here
The rides of the first ever theme park in Visayas already arrived in Silay City. Construction work has already begun on the 5.6-hectare lot in Barangay Guinhalaran where Magikland will rise next year. It will be a world class theme park that will offer rides and attractions, and educational and cultural exhibits. There will be three projected zones for the theme park that will cater to different ages. A magical zone for the younger children and another for the older ones, and a cultural zone at the center that will replicate the old Silay. Magikland will be a big boost to the economy of Negros Occidental as it eyes to be the next tourism hub in the Visayas [4].
